The Blues already have a superb set of players with plenty of strength in depth, illustrated by their comfortable Premier League title win and the addition of a victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup final.

Chelsea may now look to trim down their squad of unneeded players as well, with speculation suggesting four could leave while five new players come in at Stamford Bridge, with the movement set to be as follows:

Out – Loic Remy

Heading out in a possible swap deal, Loic Remy could be axed by Chelsea despite a decent season as backup to Diego Costa. Still, the Frenchman has also looked injury prone and is perhaps not a reliable long-term option.

In – Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

Coming in as part of the deal, Alexandre Lacazette could leave Lyon for Chelsea this summer and would certainly represent a big improvement upfront.

Out – Petr Cech

Wanted by Arsenal, Petr Cech is sure to quit Chelsea after becoming a backup to Thibaut Courtois this season.

In – Asmir Begovic (Stoke City)

Coming in as a replacement on the bench could be Stoke City shot-stopper Asmir Begovic, who has been linked with an £8m switch to Stamford Bridge.

Out – Oscar

Linked with a surprise move to Liverpool, Oscar could be on his way out of Chelsea this summer if the right offer comes in.

In – Jose Luis Gaya (Valencia)

With Filipe Luis unimpressive at left-back, it has been suggested that Chelsea could look to sign Valencia youngster Jose Luis Gaya for that role instead.

Out – John Obi Mikel

No longer a regular, John Obi Mikel is sure to be offloaded and could even make the highly surprising move to Real Madrid.

In – Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

With doubts over Didier Drogba at the age of 37, another forward may be needed and speculation suggests Chelsea could try to sign Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
