With United and Liverpool both in contention for a Champions League spot, a poor performance from Mourinho’s side against the Reds could have serious implications in the race for the top four.

Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this weekend with the Premier League title already wrapped up, so it would be little surprise if the Blues were not at their best against their rivals on this occasion.

According to the Daily Telegraph, there is some suggestion that United are not happy with this as they fully expect the champions to continue to play as though there is something for them to fight for, to be fair to the other teams whose finishing positions remain uncertain.

United take on Crystal Palace on Saturday and are currently four points ahead of Liverpool.
