The Metro has linked this development to the Gunners, who have held a long term interest in the 22-year-old.

Indeed, the France international would be a great signing for the North London club, able to fit in beside Francis Coquelin in the middle of the park and contribute in both defence and attack.

Manager Arsene Wenger may have had his interest in the player piqued by his great performance at the Emirates earlier this season. The youngster played a key part in the Ligue 1 side’s 1-3 demolition of Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, scoring once and helping to nullify any attacks from the Premier League side.

However, there are some other suitors for the centre-mid, with Chelsea, Tottenham , and Liverpool all linked by the report. It could easily be one of this group, rather than the Gunners, who have made the big money bid.
