£240m: How Real Madrid XI could look in 2015/16 after four massive signings including Man United star and Serie A powerhouse

With Carlo Ancelotti having seen his side’s La Liga title push all but end last weekend we’d imagine the Bernabeu side could once again spend big.

Here’s how Real Madrid’s starting eleven could look in 2015/16.

Goalkeeper – David de Gea (Man United)

It’s entirely plausible that Real Madrid will push on with efforts to land the £50m rated Old Trafford keeper as a replacement for Iker Casillas.

Left-back – Marcelo

Brazilian keeps his place at left-back with back-up option Fabio Coentrao likely to quit the club this summer.

Centre-back – Sergio Ramos

Strong defensive leader, albeit prone to the odd red card or two, we keep Ramos in our back four.

Centre-Back – Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)

Pepe isn’t up to scratch and Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t seem to rate youngster Raphael Varane all that highly so time to bring in the £40m rated World Cup winner.

Right-Back – Dani Carvajal

We elect to keep Carvajal as our right-back, but only just.

Central midfield – Luka Modric

It’s no coincidence that when the Croats been sidelined then Real Madrid look far less impressive.

Central midfield – Paul Pogba

French powerhouse seems set to leave Turin and is a known Real Madrid target and the Spanish giants are clearly not averse to forking out the £75m it could take to land the midfielder.

Central midfield – Toni Kroos

German has perhaps not made as much of an impact as he would have liked in his debut season but we tip him to do so next term.

Left-attack – Cristiano Ronaldo

Portuguese star has scored with the alarming regularity which we’ve become accustomed too.

Striker – Sergio Aguero (Man City)

Argentine proved a huge success when in the Spanish capital with Atletico and the £75m rated star is a far better central striking option than Karim Benzema.

Right-attack – James Rodriguez

We’d imagine that if Real Madrid are too spend big then they’d have to sacrifice a star turn, that man could well be Gareth Bale, in which case we’d push up the Colombian to take his spot out wide.
