Nine offices of top football managers, including Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal and Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti

We’re so accustomed to seeing football managers screaming instructions from the dugout that it’s hard to envisage a calm and composed coach sat at an office planning his week ahead.

However, we’ve found images of current managers – including Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Louis van Gaal – doing just that.

Take a look below…

Louis van Gaal – Manchester United

We can imagine that the office of Louis van Gaal to be perhaps the most intimidating in world football – and one look at the terrified face of Gary Neville says it all…

It looks like a sauna – is that a thermostat on the wall? Perhaps LVG literally sweats out any player who dares to question him.

Carlo Ancelotti – Real Madrid

The Italian is perhaps the coolest coach in Europe, and we expect this to be the calmest of offices – despite the pressures of managing the Spanish giants.

He’s probably in the middle of a relaxing game of Spider Solitaire.

With all four suits.

Arsene Wenger – Arsenal

The Frenchman is described as a ‘philosopher’ of the game, and here is where he has studied over the years at Arsenal…

Wenger’s got a huge coat stand, but no coats. They’re all probably having their zips repaired.

In addition, he’s the only manager missing a computer. He’s usually an innovator, but perhaps in this regard he’s quite old school.

Luis Enrique – Barcelona

The Spaniard has led Barca to the Champions League final, the Copa del Rey final, and the club are poised to seal the La Liga title at the weekend. But with arguably the world’s greatest ever attacking trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi – Enrique’s job is certainly made easier.

His office looks the most modern. He’s checking the club’s Instagram account, he’s got a MacBook Pro on an elaborate stand, and he’s got some over-ear headphones. That’s either a midlife crisis, or he’s still young at heart.

Pep Guardiola – Bayern Munich

One of the great tacticians of the game, but the German giants’ recent miserable run of form might have sent the Spaniard back to his office drawing board…

Guardiola is famously obsessive, spending the vast majority of his waking hours at the training ground – just trying to figure out the minute changes that will give his team a single percentage more possession.

Judging by this picture, he doesn’t even work with the main light on.

Brendan Rodgers – Liverpool

The Reds boss is beginning to feel the pressure at Anfield with his transfer business failing to impress this season, and a busy summer in the office is expected for the Northern Irishman.

Either that, or this is his log cabin in the woods, and he simply browses the Liverpool website in his spare time.

Manuel Pellegrini – Manchester City

There had been speculation that the Chilean might be waving goodbye to his Manchester City office following a trophy-less season for the Citizens, but latest reports from the Guardian claim that he will be staying put for another season.

Judging by this image, you couldn’t necessarily rule it out.

Pellegrini hasn’t added a single personal touch to this absurdly sparse room of flat pack furniture. Unless he brought that massive pen with him.

Rafael Benitez – Napoli

Benitez’s future at Napoli is uncertain with ESPN reporting that he may quit the club in the summer. His mind, however, must be focused on the Serie A outfit’s slight hopes of pipping Lazio to a Champions League spot.

We can’t help but think that computer screen might be photoshopped though…

It’s also hard to say if that’s a printer or a coffee machine. Your guess is as good as ours.

Sir Alex Ferguson – Former Manchester United boss

The Scotsman retired his role at Old Trafford two seasons ago, but it’s worth taking a look at what a manager in control looks like…

Pretty bloody relaxed.

Having said that, his desk is a total mess and he should probably sort that out rather than lazing around.
