Arsenal are being urged to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic or his team-mate Edinson Cavani in this summer’s transfer window.
It is former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell issuing the advice, which also includes moves to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech and AS Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
It remains to be seen how busy Arsenal will be in the transfer market this year, with Arsene Wenger spending big in the last two summers for the high-profile signings of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Still, there could be further big-name additions as Arsenal look in need of an improvement to the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck up front, with Ibrahimovic and Cavani perhaps two players who will be available.
Campbell feels these are the quality of player his old club must try to sign to turn themselves into genuine title contenders, according to the Metro.
Talking about Arsenal’s summer plans, Campbell said: “Getting Petr Cech in goal would be massive for Arsenal.
“In midfield, I like Geoffrey Kondogbia, he would do a good job.
“Up front they should go to PSG and try and get either, and this may come as a big surprise, Edinson Cavani or Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They are winners.
“They are the type of players Arsenal need to be going for.”
