Calciomercatoweb.it claim that the Gunners have beaten their Premier League rivals to the versatile Serie A midfielder with Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich having made the trip to London earlier in the week, and a drafted agreement on his transfer at the end of the season was reached.

It is thought that Arsenal utilised Vidal sharing the same agent, Felicevich, as current Emirates star Alexis Sanchez, who is also his international team-mate for Chile, to persuade the 27-year-old to snub Anfield.

Arsene Wenger is reported to have put the Chilean’s name at the top of his wish-list, as he chases a goalscoring midfielder.

The Juve ace has scored eight goals and registered four assists this term – hardly prolific – but he has been a regular on the team-sheet for the Italian giants who have gone on to clinch the Serie A title and a place in the Champions League final this season.

As a result of his impressive performances, he looks poised to have earned himself a big-money move.
