Cristiano Ronaldo exit: Six players who could replace Man United legend at Real Madrid, including Eden Hazard

While several bargain transfers are in the 20, there are also some surprisingly expensive players among the value for money group. What do you think of their choices?

20) Andrew Robertson, Hull City, £2.85 million

While the Tigers have been poor throughout the season and are now favourites for the drop, their Scottish left-back has been impressive. Since joining, the 21-year-old has earned his way in to the Scotland team and could well stay in the division even if Hull are relegated.

19) Diafra Sakho, West Ham, £3.5 million

12 goals have endeared the Senegalese to fans at Upton Park, although injuries have held him back in the second half of the season. Will a new manager trust him if Sam Allardyce leaves though?

18) Daley Blind, Manchester United, £13.8 million

Able to fill in across the midfield and defence, the Dutchman has proven an astute signing by the Red Devils. After splashing the cash on players like Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, could more thought out deals like this one be way forward?

17) Fraser Forster, Southampton, £10 million

Were it not for the former Celtic man’s injury he could well be competing with Joe Hart for an England spot, and the Saints might still be challenging for the Champions League places.

16) Emre Can, Liverpool, £9.75 million

Despite having to fill in at centre-back for much of the campaign, the German has still managed to impress. With Steven Gerrard leaving in the summer he may be deployed in the heart of midfield next time round.

15) Dame N’Doye, Hull City, £3 million

Another player from the North East who may be staying in the Premier League even if his current side do not. The 30-year-old has five goals in 14 appearances so far, and needs to add to that on Sunday to help the Tigers stay up.

14) Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea City, £8 million

After a move to Tottenham which didn’t quite work out, the Iceland international is back on familiar territory at the Liberty Stadium. Eight goals and ten assists in the Premier League is a fantastic return.

13) Dusan Tadic, Southampton, £10.9 million

A slightly unusual choice from the Telegraph given Tadic’s inconsistency. For almost £11 million the Saints have bought a player who has scored only four goals and assisted another seven. Four of those assists came in their 8-0 thrashing of Sunderland as well.

12) David Ospina, Arsenal, £3 million

He has managed to dislodge Wojciech Szczesny from between the sticks at the Emirates, which is no mean feat. However, his importance may lessen if the Gunners manage to sign Petr Cech from Chelsea.

11) Graziano Pelle, Southampton, £8 million

12 goals in his debut season is a respectable total after coming from the Eredivisie. However, his performances have dropped off in the second half of the campaign, and the Italian will have to improve his consistency if he wants to be mentioned alongside the top strikers in the division.

10) Bafetimbi Gomis, Swansea City, FREE

At a time when goalscorers are becoming more and more expensive, to get a ten goal a season forward for free is a great deal. It is yet to be seen if he can continue this next time round.

9) Sadio Mane, Southampton, £11.8 million

Now the proud owner of the record for the fastest hat trick in Premier League history, and looks another good signing by the South Coast outfit. At 23-years-old he could also be a key player for years to come.

8) Ayoze Perez, Newcastle United, £1.5 million

With the Magpies dropping like a stone since January, the Spaniard has been a ray of hope. And at below £2 million is also a great bargain.

7) Ander Herrera, Manchester United, £28.85 million

The former Athletic Bilbao man has managed eight goals in his first season, and has formed part of an impressive midfield at Old Trafford.

6) Diego Costa, Chelsea, £32 million

Can a player be a bargain when bought for over £30 million? The 26-year-old has impressed, but when most teams can’t afford the fee it isn’t really a bargain.

5) Aaron Cresswell, West Ham, £3.75 million

Although he has only been in the top flight since August, the left-back is already being chased by Chelsea and Manchester City. Surely he should be higher up the list?

4) Lukasz Fabianski, Swansea City, FREE

Arsenal may have made a mistake letting the Pole go. Both Ospina and Szczesny have made mistakes at times this season, while the former Gunner could be about to win the Golden Glove. What’s more, he was free!

3) Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea, £27 million

Another possible Arsenal transfer mistake. They turned down the chance to sign the Spain international, and he has since gone on to create 21 goals for the Blues.

2) Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal, £35 million

While undoubtedly impressive this season, the former Barcelona ace is another who could possibly be too expensive to be good value.

1) Esteban Cambiasso, Leicester City, FREE

A big name at a relatively small club yes, but best value transfer of the season maybe not. While getting such a proven talent for nothing is a good deal, the midfielder hasn’t really impressed until the last few matches of the season when the whole team has lifted its game.
