Would these two French internationals make Chelsea the best team in Europe? Read on and decide for yourselves…

GK: Thibaut Courtois

Guaranteed number one particularly if Petr Cech leaves, Thibaut Courtois has been immense this season and should continue to get even better.

DR: Branislav Ivanovic

One of the best right-backs in the world, Branislav Ivanovic has been superb this term and looks another player who has to continue as first choice.

DL: Cesar Azpilicueta

Rock solid at the back for Chelsea this season, Cesar Azpilicueta has seen off competition from Filipe Luis for a starting spot at left-back.

DC: John Terry

Still one of the best defenders in the world, John Terry doesn’t need replacing yet and should continue in defence for the Blues next season.

DC: Gary Cahill

Another fine defensive player, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma should rotate as first choice alongside Terry for Chelsea next year.

MC: Nemanja Matic

The most defensive minded of a midfield three, Nemanja Matic has been awesome for Chelsea this season and will surely resume this role in 2015/16.

MC: Cesc Fabregas

Despite a drop off in the second half of the season, Cesc Fabregas has been excellent for Chelsea and will surely remain first choice next season.

MC: Paul Pogba

Brought in from Juventus, Paul Pogba is one of the club’s top targets and a swap deal involving Oscar could swing the move in their favour, bringing more power and quality from the middle of the park.

FR: Antoine Griezmann

In another swap deal, Filipe Luis could return to Atletico Madrid in a move that would see Chelsea sign the in-form French winger Antoine Griezmann, who has hit 25 goals from out wide this season and who looks a major upgrade on players like Willian and Juan Cuadrado.

FL: Eden Hazard

A player who keeps getting better and better, there is no need to replace Eden Hazard on the left-hand side for Chelsea.

FC: Diego Costa

Continuing upfront, Diego Costa should remain first choice even if Mourinho opts to bring in someone like Christian Benteke or Alexandre Lacazette as a rotation option.
