Here is how the Gunners rated in their performances at the Emirates Stadium.

GK) David Ospina – 5

If Wenger wanted any confirmation regarding a move for a new goalkeeper this summer, the Colombian gave him some ammunition. Caught in no-mans-land for West Brom’s goal and almost turned a long-range effort into his own net.

RB) Hector Bellerin – 6

Kept the width and was a constant threat on the right by overlapping Jack Wilshere. The Spaniard needs to cut the rash challenges out of his game to become a complete defender.

CB) Gabriel – 6

Was comfortable alongside Mertesacker and looks to have become accustomed to the league.

CB) Mertesacker – 6

A calming influence in the defence but struggled at times in the second half to contain Victor Anichebe.

LF) Kieran Gibbs – 6

Was solid throughout and put in a few aggressive tackles to let Wenger know that he’s ready to regain his left-back spot.

DM) Francis Coquelin – 7

Showed his qualities in possession by keeping the ball moving and finding the likes of Wilshere and Mesut Ozil in between the lines.

CM) Santi Cazorla – 7

After an indifferent few weeks, Cazorla’s passing range had returned and he was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

CAM) Mesut Ozil – 7

With pace and movement in front of him, the German wizard shone bright. Recorded once assist and producing some flashes of sheer genius.

AML) Alexis Sanchez – 7

Cut a frustrated figure due to not getting on the scoresheet but will be hoping that the goals will come next week.

AMR) Jack Wilshere – 9

Almost a complete performance from the 23-year-old playing in a wide right role. Scored one of Arsenal’s goals of the season and played a major part in Walcott’s third.

CF) Theo Walcott – 9

Not much more Walcott can do to stake his claim for an FA Cup final birth with a first half hat-trick. Given his long-awaited star through the middle, Wenger has a big decision to make.

Substitutes:

Aaron Ramsey – 7

Came on with 20 minutes remaining and smashed the post on two occasions. Ramsey will be looking to repeat his match-winning performance in the FA Cup final. Wenger was certainly loving his cameo.

Olivier Giroud – 6

Slowed the play down and his contrasting style to Walcott was evident.
