GK: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)

Probably the best goalkeeper in the world, Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer is narrowly in ahead of Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.

DR: Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)

Another Bayern star, Philipp Lahm has been excellent again this season and just pips Branislav Ivanovic and Dani Alves for a place at right-back.

DC: John Terry (Chelsea)

Back to his best this season, Chelsea captain John Terry has shown that he’s still got it, and takes one place in central defence.

DC: Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

Another player who has rediscovered his best form, Gerard Pique has been superb for La Liga champions Barcelona and lines up alongside Terry here.

MC: Nemanja Matic (Chelsea)

One of the stand-out defensive midfielders in Europe, Nemanja Matic has been immense for Chelsea and deserves his place in this lineup.

MC: Paul Pogba (Juventus)

A world class youngster, Juventus star Paul Pogba earns a place alongside Matic after yet another title with Juventus, and could he even be partnering the Serbian at Stamford Bridge next season?

AMR: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

With an amazing 43 goals in La Liga, Lionel Messi takes the place on this right-hand side with little need for justification. Harsh on mere mortals such as Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller.

AML: Neymar (Barcelona)

An outstanding talent starting to reach top form, Neymar has been much improved for Barcelona this season and has earned his place in this XI.

AMC: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Just behind the main striker, Eden Hazard has lit up the Premier League for champions Chelsea this season and is the third Blues player in this side.

FC: Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

Up front, it has to be former Liverpool man Luis Suarez, whose 14 goals and 16 assists make him a superbly complete forward player who has contributed greatly to Barca’s title win, despite missing the start of the season.
