1) Chelsea

There has been some speculation that Chelsea would be interested in taking on Falcao next season, with Jose Mourinho in need of a replacement for the departing veteran forward Didier Drogba. A backup role could suit the 29-year-old well, with injuries meaning he is perhaps no longer at peak fitness.

2) Liverpool

Liverpool are also said to be contenders to sign Falcao, with Brendan Rodgers’ side another big club in need of reinforcements up front after failing to adequately replace Luis Suarez last summer.

3) Arsenal

Arsenal were known to be interested in Falcao last summer and could do with bidding for the AS Monaco man again this year. Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck have not impressed up front and if Falcao can get back to his best, he’d certainly be a major upgrade in that position.

4) Manchester City

Could Falcao be staying in Manchester? City need signings up front after poor seasons from the likes of Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and January signing Wilfried Bony, surely allowing for a place for Falcao to be a useful squad player.

5) Real Madrid

Real Madrid are long-time admirers of Falcao, and could also be on the lookout for a backup striker this summer as Javier Hernandez looks unlikely to stay at the Bernabeu beyond his loan spell this term.

6) Atletico Madrid

A return to his old club has also been mooted, with Atletico Madrid perhaps ready to do a swap deal with AS Monaco involving Mario Mandzukic. With Falcao at his very best with Atletico, there’s no doubt he could be very tempted to play under Diego Simeone again.

7) Juventus

Juventus have long been mentioned as leading contenders to sign Falcao and it could be that they will now step up their interest in the South American, with the Champions League finalists in need of more quality in attack.
