While there has not been too many standout games this season, we have been treated to flashes of quality from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Tottenham.

Take a look at what made the top five for best games of the season:

5)  Stoke City 3-2 Arsenal – December 6th 2014

Coming in at fifth place was the five-goal thriller between the Potters and the Gunners at the Britannia Stadium back in December.

Peter Crouch opened the scoring after barely a minute on the clock as the hosts raced into a 3-0 half-time lead. Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey hinted at a fight-back but Stoke held firm to take the win.

4) Manchester City 4-1 Tottenham – 18th October 2014

A memorable clash mainly because there were FOUR penalties awarded in this entertaining game at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero missed one and scored two en route to a hat-trick, while Roberto Soldado missed his opportunity from 12 yards at a crucial moment in the game as City eventually eased to a 4-1 win.

2=) Southampton 8-0 Sunderland – 18th October 2014

This was an complete humiliation for the Black Cats as they were simply battered by a Saints side that had lost a huge chunk of their squad during last summer’s transfer window.

New boys Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic stole the show at St Mary’s as they were involved in five of the eight goals in the largest margin of victory during the season.

2=) Leicester City 5-3 Manchester United – September 21st 2014

Joint second with the game at St Mary’s is this epic clash at the King Power Stadium in week five of the season.

This game had everything, from a stunning Angel Di Maria goal to the Foxes being awarded two penalties as they recovered from a two-goal deficit to eventually win this great game of football for the neutral 5-3.

1) Tottenham 5-3 Chelsea – January 1st 2015

The best game of the season award goes to yet another five-goal thriller as Tottenham shocked league leaders Chelsea with a brilliant attacking display on New Years Day.

Despite falling behind to Diego Costa’s goal in the first half, Spurs found themselves 4-1 ahead by the hour mark thanks in part to a stunning brace from Harry Kane as they won this spectacular London derby 5-3.
