Manchester United star Angel Di Maria is yet to learn to speak English nearly a year after arriving at Old Trafford, reports The Sun.
The Argentine signed for a British record £59.7 million last August, but has struggled to live up to that transfer fee in the Premier League. The 27-year-old scored four goals and created another ten in 31 appearances in his debut campaign, with injuries holding him back at times. Towards the end of the season he was dropped for Ashley Young on the right wing.
The former Real Madrid man has not been helped in his endeavours by an inability to settle down with his family in England. His home was burgled earlier in the year, and now it seems that he cannot speak the language. At least he has teammate and compatriot Marcos Rojo to help him along though.
Rojo said: “I’m taking some English classes with Di Maria. Although, to be honest, I have to say we laugh more than learn in those classes sometimes! But we are both really interested to learn more of the language here. I have adapted quickly to life in the Premier League and love it.”
Should the Red Devils give up on making the move work then Ligue 1 champions PSG are keen to sign the winger. However, this time has not come yet.
