Manchester United transfer news

1) Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

One of Manchester United’s best players and a legend of the Premier League, Wayne Rooney failed to lift his struggling side to any silverware this season, with the club having to settle for just fourth in the table and a run to the FA Cup quarter-finals, where they were beaten by eventual winners Arsenal.

2) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Another season finishing empty-handed for Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling, whose side didn’t even make the Champions League and were knoccked out of the semi-finals of both cup competitions. The desire for trophies may be behind the 20-year-old’s actions in seeking a transfer this summer.

A super skillful Brazilian playmaker who has lit up the Premier League for Liverpool this season, Philippe Coutinho’s fine form was not enough to give the Reds a chance of lifting a trophy at the end of it all.

5) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Top scorer in the Premier League, Sergio Aguero does take the individual award of the Golden Boot, but couldn’t repeat last season’s success for his club.

10) Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur)

Another fine Tottenham player this season, Christian Eriken scored some important goals for the club but couldn’t do quite enough to help them in their Capital One Cup final loss to Chelsea.

11) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

Perhaps the best young striker in Europe right now, Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette has had a sensational season, scoring 31 goals to surely earn a move to a bigger club, though his side just missed out on the Ligue 1 title.

12) Miralem Pjanic (AS Roma)

A classy playmaker wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United, Miralem Pjanic has been a stand-out performer for AS Roma again this season, but with no silverware to show for it.
