The Red Devils have struggled with their striking options this season, with Wayne Rooney the only in-form forward on the books at Old Trafford after Falcao looked particularly disappointing on loan from AS Monaco.

Van Persie also put in an underwhelming effort throughout the campaign, scoring only ten goals and looking unfit and past his best.

With that in mind, United now seem ready to fix the issue with another spending spree on these two world class strikers…

1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is one of the first names on United’s list, with the Frenchman perhaps on his way out of the Bernabeu this summer for just £35.6m, a bargain for a player of his proven quality and experience at the very top level.

2) Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)

Secondly, United want to sign Benzema’s old team-mate Gonzalo Higuain from Napolil, with the Argentine sharp-shooter impressing in Serie A since his move from Real last season. Previous reports suggest the long-time Arsenal and Liverpool target would cost around £42m.
