The Reds are said to be close to typing up a £48m triple deal for three Premier League stars, whilst also pursuing the free transfer of an experienced midfielder.

It remains to be seen when these moves will go through, but Liverpool have firmly set their sights on this quartet, who look likely to be on the move this summer one way or another…

1) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

In a £32m move, Liverpool want to sign in-form Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, who could surely be on his way to a bigger club after a dreadful season for Villa, who narrowly escaped relegation and were thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

2) Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

Having failed with a £10m bid, Liverpool are expected to try again for Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne this summer, with the in-form England man the ideal replacement for the departing Glen Johnson.

3) Danny Ings (Burnley)

Liverpool could also look to improve their strike force with another Premier League striker, as they eye a £6m move to sign Burnley front-man Danny Ings, whose side were relegated this season.

4) James Milner (Manchester City)

Liverpool could also make one more signing on a free, as they lead the running for Manchester City contract rebel and Arsenal target James Milner, who’d be an ideal replacement for Steven Gerrard after his move to LA Galaxy.
