The Red Devils lost the Frenchman to Juve back in 2012, with the youngster struggling to make a first-team breakthrough at Old Trafford under previous manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Still, Pogba has since developed into one of the best in the world in his position, sparking strong interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, including United.

The 22-year-old will not come cheap, however, and United will have to break their transfer record with a £60.6m offer, eclipsing the £59.7m they paid Real Madrid for Angel Di Maria.

It remains to be seen if Pogba will choose a move to United over other interested parties, but the Reds are hopeful of completing this ambitious deal, according to the Metro.

United have also been strongly linked with a move to re-sign club legend Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid at times this summer.
