Champions League Final BET VICTOR Preview: Michael Owen looks ahead to Juventus v Barcelona

Barcelona will meet Juventus in the Champions League Final in Berlin on Saturday and, despite highlighting Juventus as the tournament’s dark horses at the start of the knock out stages, BetVictor Brand Ambassador Michael Owen can’t see past the Catalan giants.

Barcelona v Juventus

As much as I am looking forward to Saturday’s Final it will also be a sad occasion given it marks the last game in a Barca shirt of their wonderful midfield general and skipper Xavi Hernandez who signs off after playing no fewer than 766 games for the Club; a quite extraordinary domestic and glittering international career.

Since the first week in January Barca have played 34 games in all competitions, won 30, drawn two and lost two scoring 104 goals and conceding 23. That said Juve are not going to Germany just to make up the numbers and in Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo they have their own trio of superstars albeit in the middle of the park.

This is a high-quality Juventus side but if they go behind they will have to change their game plan which will be to stifle the Spanish side in midfield and stop them feeding those short passes through to Lionel Messi as he roams in the “hole” behind Suarez and Neymar. Juve will miss the experience of the injured Giorgio Chiellini in the centre of defence and the centre-back will not now be reacquainted with Luis Suarez after their World Cup altercation twelve months ago.

Lionel Messi is 17/5 to score the opening goal, with his strike partners Suarez and Neymar both 5/1 and it is the latter who I feel represents the value. They are all quite magnificent players in their own right and whilst “The Old Lady” might be able to stop one or indeed two of them on Saturday night they might need to build a wall in front of their goal in Berlin to stop all three of them finding the back of the Italian net.

Barcelona have been quite breathtaking since the turn of the year and I expect them to add the Champions League Trophy to their domestic double of La Liga and Copa Del Rey on Saturday.

Michael’s recommended bets:

Barcelona to win to nil: 13/8 at BetVictor
Under 2.5 goals: 9/10 at BetVictor
First goalscorer: Neymar at 5/1 with BetVictor
Barcelona to win 2-0: 7/1 with BetVictor
