Manchester United transfer rumours
Manchester City favourites to sign Raheem Sterling as Arsenal refuse to meet £50 million price-tag

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the forward according to talkSPORT, but both would surely baulk at the considerable asking price.

To put the fee into context, the Serie A side signed the striker for what the Daily Mail reported as £32 million from Real Madrid two summers ago and since then the Argentina international has been good but not a 212.5%-price-increase good.

However, the player’s agent hasn’t confirmed this news, so there is still hope.

In his two seasons for Napoli, the 27-year-old has scored 53 goals in 102 appearances, which will have kept him in the thoughts of top clubs despite being cast off by the Galacticos. Indeed, the Premier League sides could definitely do with bolstering up front.

The Red Devils and the Gunners are both in need of goalscorers if they are to challenge Chelsea for the title next time round.

While the Blues had Diego Costa impressing with 20 goals in the top flight last season, United had to deal with the underperforming Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao as well experimenting with Wayne Rooney in midfield at times. Meanwhile, there have always been doubts over the quality of the north Londoners’ Olivier Giroud.
