Manchester United are readying some big moves in this summer’s transfer market and could unveil an amazing new-look XI for next season, with this our projection of how Louis van Gaal’s side could line up for the start of 2015/16…

GK: Jan Oblak

Linked as David de Gea’s replacement, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is a target for United this summer and could be the new number one at Old Trafford next season.

DR: Nathaniel Clyne

A £15m target from Southampton, Nathaniel Clyne is surely going to be United’s top target at right-back this summer after Dani Alves decided to stay at Barcelona.

DL: Luke Shaw

Also signed from the Saints last year, Luke Shaw will be hoping to establish himself as first choice next season after a difficult first year with United.

DC: Marcos Rojo

A fine signing in defence last summer, Marcos Rojo should continue to establish himself as a key figure at the back for Van Gaal’s side.

DC: Nicolas Otamendi

Keen to play alongside his fellow Argentine, Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi has also been strongly linked with a big move to United this summer.

MC: Morgan Schneiderlin

In a possible double raid on Southampton, United also want to beat Arsenal to the signing of French midfield powerhouse Morgan Schneiderlin.

MC: Ander Herrera

Another successful buy from last year, Ander Herrera deserves to continue as first choice in midfield for the Red Devils.

AMR: Memphis Depay

Already signed from PSV, Memphis Depay will surely command a regular starting spot in attacking midfield, most likely on the right flank.

AML: Angel Di Maria

Hoping for a better second season in Manchester, Angel Di Maria should resume on the left-hand side for the Red Devils next term.

AMC: Wayne Rooney

Playing just behind the main striker, club captain Wayne Rooney looks the ideal choice to fill in centrally, rotating with Juan Mata.

FC: Harry Kane

A £40mn target, Harry Kane has impressed for Tottenham this season and is now believed to be a top target up front for United.
