A look at the ten clubs who have received most in player sales in the last ten years, featuring some giants of the European game who have let truly big names go…

10) Arsenal – £256.1m

Letting big names like Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and Thomas Vermaelen go in recent times, it’s no surprise to see Arsenal up there with the biggest selling clubs of the last ten years.

9) Udinese – £256.9m

Alexis Sanchez and Mehdi Benatia are among the biggest names offloaded by Serie A outfit Udinese in recent times, with the Italians making it into 9th on this list.

8) Genoa – £258.3m

AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy is a notable big sale by Genoa in recent years, along with Diego Milito of Inter Milan fame.

7) Inter Milan – £274.9m

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a huge sale for Inter Milan, with Samuel Eto’o joining as part of the move and becoming another big sale to Anzhi Makhachkala later on.

6) Atletico Madrid – £275.7m

A club that has done amazing well to cope with so many player sales, Sergio Aguero, Radamel Falcao and Diego Costa are among the recent examples of star players that Atletico Madrid decided to cash in on.

5) AC Milan – £282.9m

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic involved again, AC Milan have also made a good amount from letting their biggest names leave in recent times, though it has seen the club struggle badly to replicate the great success of their past.

4) Benfica – £294.2m

David Luiz and Nemanja Matic, pictured above, are among the biggest sales by Portuguese talent factory Benfica, who have also bid farewell to the likes of Ezequiel Garay recently.

3) Liverpool – £319.8m

One that will disappoint Liverpool fans – players like Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres leaving for bigger clubs has seen the Reds rake in £319.8m from player sales in the last decade.

2) Tottenham Hotspur – £351.6m

Having allowed star names like Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Dimitar Berbatov all leave in the last few years, Tottenham are incredibly second on this list – no wonder they can’t break the top four!

The most successful selling club in the world – Porto have sold their best players for a huge profit in recent times, with the four players above just some of many to help the Portuguese giants bring in £475.8m in sales.
