With Arsenal reportedly being priced out of a move to sign Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, who is valued at around £50m or potentially even higher, here’s a look at four players the Gunners could sell to help raise funds for the move – without even weakning their squad significantly…

1) Theo Walcott – £20m

Linked with the likes of Liverpool – possibly in a swap deal involving Sterling – Theo Walcott could fetch around £20m this summer if Arsenal decide to let him go. The 26-year-old, also a target for Chelsea, is far too injury prone to be relied upon consistently, and if his departure meant Sterling coming in at the Emirates Stadium, that would surely be good business for the Gunners.

2) Jack Wilshere – £15m

Perhaps worth around £15m, Jack Wilshere is another injury-prone midfielder whom Arsenal could definitely live without. If Manchester City are ready to pay up for the England international in a bid to meet their quota for homegrown players, the Gunners should certainly take the money and run for this unreliable performer.

3) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – £10m

A promising youngster who hasn’t really lived up to expectations so far at Arsenal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet another player who struggles with injuries and could be moved on. Perhaps worth around £10m, the former Southampton man has not yet been linked with anyone, but would surely attract interest from a number of Premier League teams.

4) Lukas Podolski – £5m

Finally, a player almost certain to be on his way out of Arsenal this summer is Lukas Podolski. The German international may only bring in around £5m, but that could go some way towards raising money for a far better attacking player in Sterling.
