1) John Terry (Chelsea)

A player who has been a great leader for Chelsea down the years and supposedly played a big part in their Champions League win in 2012 with his work off the pitch, it is hard to imagine John Terry isn’t a Blues manager of the future, and one who could be a big success after learning from so many of the greats.

2) Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy)

Despite leaving Liverpool this summer, one feels it is inevitable that Steven Gerrard will be back at Anfield in some capacity one day, and there’s certainly potential there for the Reds legend to make it in management.

3) Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

A player who modelled his playing style on Pep Guardiola, Cesc Fabregas could also follow his fellow Spaniard’s route into coaching. The Chelsea man has worked under some of the best, and always sounds intelligent, articulate and like he has a good understanding of the tactical side of the game.

4) Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)

Another good speaker and leader, Vincent Kompany has the feel of a manager about him after a great playing career with Manchester City, showing he knows how to get the best out of his team-mates.

5) Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)

Described by Guardiola as the most intelligent footballer he’d worked with, Philipp Lahm seems set for a career in management after his playing days with Bayern Munich are over.

6) Xabi Alonso (Bayern Munich)

Another intelligent and well-spoken player, Xabi Alonso’s superb career under many of the game’s best coaches makes him stand out as another possible candidate to have some success from the dugout in the future.

7) Javier Mascherano (Barcelona)

A similar kind of player and leader to Argentine legend Diego Simeone, Javier Mascherano seems another influential figure on the pitch who has what it takes to replicate the Atletico Madrid boss’ success from the technical area.

8) Andrea Pirlo (Juventus)

Playing in a position that requires tactical nous, Andrea Pirlo could be one of many Italians to try their hand at coaching, and many of them have been among the finest ever in the game.

9) Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)

Another Italian legend, Gianluigi Buffon has been around long enough to learn a thing or two about coaching a team, and he seems another who would do well making the transition from the pitch to the dugout.

10) Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)

Like Buffon, an experienced goalkeeper and leader who has done so well for both club and country in a glittering career, Iker Casillas has an authoratitive role at the Bernabeu and seems to have the mentality for management.
