With rumours afresh that Inter Milan are trying to sign unwanted Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah this summer after his highly successful loan stint at Fiorentina, here’s a look at five Premier League clubs who should be trying to get their hands on the talented Egyptian youngster.

Having barely had a sniff at a starting place in his short time at Stamford Bridge, Salah has not been able to show his best form in England, but his performances at Basel prior to joining the Blues were superb, as have his displays in Italy in the second half of this season.

With that in mind, these five English sides should be doing all they can to bag this underrated young talent…

1) Arsenal

With Arsenal known to be chasing the super-expensive Raheem Sterling (likely to cost around £50m), why aren’t the Gunners focusing on a more affordable and possibly more talented winger? Salah would arguably be an upgrade on Theo Walcott out wide, and has the pace and quality to give them something a bit different from the likes of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla in the attacking midfield department.

2) Liverpool

With Sterling surely going, why aren’t Liverpool renewing their interest in a player they tried to sign before his move to Chelsea? Brendan Rodgers’ side desperately needs more quality in attack, and this underrated wide-man could be a signing that proves as big a success as the gamble the Reds took when they signed Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.

3) Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are another team in need of better wingers after suffering disappointment from the likes of Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon and Erik Lamela. Salah would be an affordable option and one who could give Spurs a real boost as they look to break into the top four next season.

4) Everton

An ambitious move perhaps, but having signed the excellent Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea last summer, could Everton also try their luck with a move for Salah? The Toffees have the advantage of not being a direct rival for Chelsea, meaning the 22-year-old’s arrival would probably not hinder the Blues’ own title bid.

5) Southampton

An attack-minded and ambitious team with a smart manager, why don’t Southampton aim a little higher and try to recruit this big name? The Saints were excellent in 2014/15 and could challenge for Europe again, with Salah likely to be an improvement on players like Dusan Tadic in attack.
