The Schalke winger has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with speculation during the January transfer window in 2014 that he was set to link up with compatriots Per Mertesacker, Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil in North London [via Mirror Sport].
However, those reports proved to be inaccurate and the 21-year-old, who was part of the Germany squad that were crowned world champions last summer, remained in his homeland.
With more experience under his belt now, it is understood that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to go back in for the wonderkid and is preparing a stunning £30million bid.
News of a potential move for Draxler could signal the end of the North London outfit’s interest in Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, despite reports in Telegraph Sport on Monday afternoon that Arsenal were ready to make an offer for the England international.
It is highly unlikely that there would be room at the Emirates for two of European football’s most highly-rated youngsters and it would appear Wenger will have to make a decision which one he feels represents better value for money.
