Gomez is unlikely to be the last bright young thing we see snapped up by a Premier League side this summer, with the division’s top clubs all likely to be keeping an eye on the most exciting youngsters from the lower leagues and abroad.

In this feature, we present five talented teenagers who have all been linked with a move to the top flight. Which of these will join Gomez in securing a move to the EPL this window?

Sergio Diaz

Young Paraguayan forward Sergio Diaz is the latest teen sensation to have turned heads in South America and, as a result, the player has been linked with a move to England in recent months.

TalkSPORT believe Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in the 16-year-old, who has already been called up to the Paraguay U20 squad.

Premier League champions Chelsea are also in the race, and invited Diaz’s father to Stamford Bridge for their last game of the season [via Mail Sport].

Ruben Neves

With Steven Gerrard set to depart Liverpool for Los Angeles Galaxy following the expiration of his contract, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for a replacement. One name that has been mooted as a potential successor to Gerrard is highly-rated Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves [via Mirror Sport].

The 18-year-old impressed for Porto in a holding midfield role last season and may be the natural successor to the Merseyside legend.

Youri Tielemans

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is always scouring Europe for up-and-coming talent, so there is little surprise to see him linked with Anderlecht’s Youri Tielemans [via Metro Sport].

The young Belgian is seen as one of the brightest prospects in European football and has also been linked with a switch to Chelsea and Manchester United [via Mail Sport].

Will any of the heavyweight trio opt to take a plunge on this powerful midfield operator over the coming months?

Gabriel Barbosa

Barbosa has been dubbed the ‘new Neymar’ despite only being five years younger than the Barcelona forward, but it’s clear that he has a bright future in the game.

Manchester United’s search for a new striker has seen them linked with a move for the Santos youngster [via Mirror Sport] but they could face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea [via Express Sport].

Whoever does make a move for the Brazil U20 star will be hoping that he can have a similar impact to that which his compatriot has made at the Camp Nou!

Anthony Martial

If reports via Sky Sports are true, then the man dubbed the ‘new Thierry Henry’ could be featuring in the Premier League next season with Tottenham.

The 19-year-old was in good form for Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco last season and is said to have impressed Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino on a number of occasions.

In total, the versatile frontman managed nine goals in 35 league outings, and helped fire the principality club back into the Champions League.
