Etihad Stadium side to make third offer for Anfield star.
Man City will make a third bid for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling according to the Sunday Express.
The Etihad Stadium side have failed with previous offers for the 20 year old but are now ready to meet the Anfield side’s £50m valuation, fearing that other interested parties could beat them to the punch otherwise.
Sterling has publicly confirmed his intention to leave Liverpool and has turned down improved contract offers from the Merseyside outfit and a move to Man City now seems entirely plausible.
Liverpool’s transfer spending thus far has been on the cheaper side than last summer, their four additions including three free agents, and Brendan Rodgers may hope that any sale of Sterling would leave him with more money to spend on new signings.
Sterling has matured into one of the hottest prospects in European football, netting 11 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions in 2014/15, and Liverpool may feel it more practical to sell the player rather than attemting to convince a player who wants to leave to change their mind.

A significant portion of the funds accrued from Sterling’s sale will go to his former club QPR, some reports suggesting as much as 25%, and as such it’s no surprise that Liverpool would look to make as much from his inevitable departure.
