With Danny Ings set to officially join the club on July 1, the Reds are still in need of at least another forward if they are to challenge for Champions League qualification next season.

Take a look at five potential strikers that could make the move to Anfield during the transfer window:

Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers)

After scoring 18 league goals for a relegated Rangers side in his first season in the Premier League, Austin is likely to be the target of many top flight clubs and Liverpool are thought to be interested [via ITV Sport].

Austin may not be the top quality signing that Kop supporters are craving for, but he’s proven he can score goals at this level and would cost half of what Aston Villa are demanding for Benteke.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)

Borussia Dortmund has a disappointing league campaign last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification, however the performances of the Gabon international were a high point.

Aubameyang scored a respectable 16 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances and found the net in the German cup final defeat by Wolfsburg.

He’s extremely quick and can play through the middle or out wide and would fit into Brendan Rodgers’ ever changing system with ease.

After missing out on signing Memphis Depay, the Reds have been strongly linked with a move for the Dortmund forward [via Express Sport].

Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

The French international enjoyed a stunning season in Ligue 1 last season as he claimed the top goalscorer award with 27 goals in 33 appearances.

That type of form has seen him linked with a host of top European clubs including Liverpool [via Express Sport].

News in France [via Metro Sport] have revealed he is not happy with the terms of the new deal offered by Lyon, which could open the door for a move to Anfield this summer.

Carlos Bacca (Sevilla)

The Colombian striker has emerged as a top transfer target for the Reds over the weekend as the club seek a cheaper alternative to Benteke [via Liverpool Echo].

Bacca is certainly one of the hottest strikers on the market right now and proved just how clinical he is in front of goal with a double for Sevilla in their Europa League final victory over Dnipro.

The La Liga outfit have already warned the Reds that Bacca will cost his full £21.5million release clause [via Mirror Sport] and despite his age, the Reds could do a lot worse.

Salomon Rondon (Zenit)

Rondon is the other South American striker that the club are reportedly targeting after baulking at the £32million valuation of Beneteke.

The Venezuelan striker has dropped off the radar somewhat in the last couple of seasons but still managed to score 13 goals in 27 league games for Zenit St. Petersburg last year.

At 25-years-old he would be the perfect signing for the Merseyside outfit.
