Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all had players linked to the Galacticos, and will now surely be worried about holding on to their stars.

When asked whether there will be any new arrivals at the Bernabeu, Benitez said: “Of course there will be. Danilo and Casemiro, for example, are players that will be very important and the club works every day to try to increase the level of this team with other signings that will help us face the challenges that await us.

“But let me just say that to improve the current Real Madrid side is enormously difficult. This team has won it all and has proved the level it has. The fans can be certain that the team will have the level of competitiveness that this club demands.”

Here are six players from the Premier League who the Spaniard could be targeting…

6) Sergio Aguero, Manchester City

Goal.com believe that the Argentina international is a target for Real. With 34 goals in 46 appearances last season, the 27-year-old could help them to match the firepower of Barcelona. However, it may be difficult to prise him away from the Etihad after he claimed he isn’t interested in a move according to the Daily Mirror.

5) David De Gea, Manchester United

This saga has been going on for the entire summer and even some of last season, with The Guardian reporting the latest development. The Red Devils may be asking for a bit too much to have Sergio Ramos in exchange, but this has been going on for long enough that there is sure to be more to come.

4) Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal

Even though the Gunners aren’t exactly known for their rock solid defence, the Daily Star believes that Los Blancos could make a move for their centre-back. The 29-year-old was hit by injuries last season and was only able to play 25 times in the Premier League in the campaign, but it still unlikely Arsene Wenger would let him go without a fight.

3) Eden Hazard, Chelsea

It is incredibly unlikely that the Blues would be willing to let the Belgium international go in any circumstances, but if anyone is able to prise him away it would be the ten time Champions League winners. The Daily Telegraph thinks that they may give it a go as well.

2) Diego Costa, Chelsea

Not only do the Stamford Bridge outfit have to worry about losing Hazard, but could also be in danger of their main striker departing. The Daily Express has reported that the former Atletico Madrid man has been offered by his agent to Los Blancos despite manager Jose Mourinho’s insistence he is going nowhere.

1) Raheem Sterling, Liverpool

Benitez could return to his former club to look for reinforcements according to the Daily Mirror. With his contract situation rumbling on the Galacticos could become just the latest player in the transfer saga.
