Arsenal striker linked with Emirates departure and Ligue 1 transfer

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all understood to be interested in the 28-year-old, who has been a key part of Diego Simeone’s side in recent seasons, especially during their brilliant La Liga winning 2013/14 campaign. Last time round the Turkey international managed three goals and six assists in 46 games.

However, despite this success at the Vicente Calderon, it appears that the winger wants out, and sees English football as his next step. His current deal with the Rojiblancos ends in 2017 according to ESPN, meaning a cheap move is off the cards. Especially with the £29 million release clause the Express believes the wideman has.

Bulut said: “He intends to leave Spain this summer. It is his will to go out to play in the Premier League, that is where he would like to continue his career at this time.

“His departure from Atletico is not easy because he has a clause of €41 million (£29m). There are ongoing talks with three teams at the moment. I cannot say their names, but they are the best of England and European football.”

This will be a major blow to Atleti, who have just seen Mario Mandzukic leave for Juventus and are dealing with Antoine Griezmann being linked to both PSG and Chelsea according to the Metro. Having dropped to third in La Liga and going out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage last season, they will be worried that their successful era under Simeone is coming to an end.

Meanwhile, both United and their Merseyside rivals will be on the lookout for extra pace in their offence. The Red Devils have already signed Memphis Depay to this end, and Turan could line up on the other side of their midfield. Liverpool are in danger of losing Raheem Sterling according to the Daily Mirror, and even though they have announced the signing of Roberto Firmino on their official website, could do with another option in the final third.

Arsenal do have Alexis Sanchez on the left as well as Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to play on the right, but could be looking for more experience in their side as they aim to win the Premier League. Manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that the top flight is his target next season, as reported by the Daily Express.
