Valued at around £20m, Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez would be an upgrade on Luke Shaw and was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier this summer.

Another deal expected to go through, Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin should join United for around £24m and add some much-needed steal to their midfield.

An ambitious target, but Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford and would be an ideal replacement for Robin van Persie as the main striker.
