Bayern Munich, Napoli, Juventus, Roma, and Inter Milan have apparently all expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, but the mid-table Premier League table looks likely to beat all of them to his signing. This is particularly surprising when considering that several of those clubs regularly win domestic titles and take part in the Champions League while the Hammers do neither.

The Tunisia international could be a great signing for the East London outfit, having impressed for Monaco last season. He was a part of the principality based side’s brilliant defence, playing 26 times in all competitions. Leonardo Jardim’s side conceded just 26 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games, as well as only four in nine Champions League encounters.

The centre-back could certainly be an improvement on the current crop of defenders at Upton Park. Winston Reid is regarded highly by some and was even being linked to Arsenal and Tottenham before signing a new contract according to The Independent, but both James Collins and James Tomkins have been found wanting at times in the Premier League. Abdennour could be a fine addition to Slaven Bilic’s side as they look to compete in the Europa League as well as domestically in the next campaign.
