Falcao: Chelsea to offer players in part-exchange for Monaco striker

The striker may have flopped in the Premier League with Manchester United last year—scoring only four goals—but he clearly has something that appeals to Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese coach keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge to provide competition for Diego Costa.

The Pensioners are already considering the possibility of sending three of their young stars on loan to Monaco as part of the deal that brings the former FC Porto hitman to West London, as per the Telegraph.

However, beyond the departure of three youth players, Falcao’s arrival may prompt the exit of several other Chelsea forwards.

In this piece we profile five Blues attackers who could be headed for the exit door over the coming months.

Loic Remy
The France international is reportedly unhappy at his lack of minutes at Stamford Bridge [Daily Star], and while the departure of Didier Drogba may have given him cause for optimism, the imminent arrival of Falcao risks pushing him down the pecking order once again.

The 28-year-old is proven Premier League quality, and is surely wasted in the reserves. The likes of West Ham United and Crystal Palace have both been linked with the former Queens Park Rangers man [Mirror].

Mohamed Salah
The arrival of another attacking talent at Chelsea further reduces Mohamed Salah’s hopes of a first-team chance under Jose Mourinho.

Since arriving in January 2014, the Egypt international has hardly been given a fair crack of the whip but reaffirmed his talents on loan at Fiorentina last term, scoring six goals in 16 Serie A outings.

The Viola are keen to take him back on loan, while Inter Milan have also been linked to his signature [Mirror]—he looks highly unlikely to be at Stamford Bridge come the beginning of the season.

Victor Moses
He may have flopped at Liverpool on loan last season, but Victor Moses demonstrated at Stoke City last season—before injuries kicked in—that he can still he a menacing prospect in the Premier League.

It doesn’t look like Mourinho believes so, though, and expect the Nigeria international—who won the Europa League with Chelsea in 2012—to leave Stamford Bridge permanently this summer.

The Potters appear keen to sign the forward [The Guardian], although they face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are also looking at the Super Eagle [Metro].

Juan Cuadrado
As one Colombian arrives at Stamford Bridge, another looks set to depart. Juan Cuadrado arrived at Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina in January—with Salah moving in the other direction—but it would be little surprise if both suffer a similar fate this summer.

Despite being an exceptionally versatile talent, and a wonderful operator in wide areas, the 27-year-old managed only four Premier League starts last season.

Mourinho is understood to want to keep the player, [Goal] but currently in his prime, Cuadrado is unlikely to want to stick around on the Chelsea bench.

Oscar
The early promise that accompanied Oscar’s Chelsea career was almost wholly absent during 2014, as he built up to…and then wound down from…Brazil’s disastrous World Cup showing.

The Brazilian managed eight assists and six goals last term, reminding Mourinho—who has occasionally reserved criticism for the 23-year-old [Daily Star]—of his class.

However, he has been linked with a move to Juventus, and may end up being a makeweight in any deal to bring Paul Pogba to Stamford Bridge [Mirror].
