Arsenal rumours

With the biggest transfer news coming thick and fast now, here’s a look ahead at five deals for Arsenal fans to be excited about this summer, including the imminent arrival of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech!

1) Petr Cech (Chelsea)

A deal that could be announced today, according to reports, Petr Cech will join Arsenal from rivals Chelsea for a bargain £10.9m and become the Gunners’ new number one. After so many years of largely mediocre ‘keepers, fans will be delighted to see such a big name arriving at the Emirates Stadium.

2) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

A £21m deal that should be concluded after the Copa America, Arturo Vidal looks more than likely to be on his way to Arsenal from Juventus. Long regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, this should be a superb move for the north London giants in what has been a problem position for some time.

3) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

In another £21m deal, Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move to sign in-demand Lyon striker this summer. The Frenchman, also wanted by the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, has been in amazing form to score 31 goals last season and would be a big upgrade on Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

4) Theo Walcott (new contract)

One of the biggest deals Arsenal could do this summer is to tie down Theo Walcott to a new contract, with the England winger impressing at the end of last season and a player the club won’t want to lose as rivals Liverpool show an interest.

5) Lukas Podolski (exit)

A high earner who doesn’t contribute enough to this Arsenal team, Lukas Podolski seems likely to leave for Galatasaray in what would be an important sale for the Gunners as they look to rebuild their squad and cut out the deadwood.
