Tottenham chase £16m rated Belgian international

Among those set to be culled are big money signings Erik Lamela, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho, who cost the North London side a combined £73m two years ago, though of the three only the Brazilian international has a prospective buyer.

Paulinho is said to be close to completing a £10m move to Guangzhou Evergrande after becoming surplus to requirements under Pochettino.

One imagines chairman Daniel Levy will have to consider accepting offers for Lamela and Soldado that will be far below the £30m and £26m Spurs paid respectively for the pair.

Moves to find a buyer for Emmanuel Adebayor are more about removing the Togo international’s massive £100k a week salary off the balance sheet.

Pochettino wants to sell Romanian Vlad Chiriches and FC Basel are said to be keen though there is no sign of a prospective suitor for fellow defender Younes Kaboul.

Aaron Lennon spent half of last term on loan at Everton and is also on his way out as is defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue and Frenchman Benjamin Stambouli.
