The 24-year-old becomes a free agent after his contract with the Ukrainian outfit expires on Tuesday night and he is therefore available on a free transfer.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim Spurs only need to make the official announcement, which will confirm that they have beaten Premier League rivals Liverpool and Stoke City, who were both in the race for Konoplyanka’s signature, [via Express Sport] to the signing of the highly-rated winger.

The report also states that the player has already signed with the Lillywhites after undergoing a medical with Spurs over the weekend, and is set to join defensive duo Kevin Wimmer and Kieran Trippier as new arrivals in North London.

Konoplyanka played a key role in Dnipro’s run to the Europa League final last season and first came to the attention of the English media with an excellent long-range strike against the national team for Ukraine at Wembley in 2012.

His form over the last couple of seasons has seen him heavily linked with a move to a host of top European clubs including Liverpool, who could have signed the player in the January transfer window, however, the deal fell through at the last minute [via Sky Sports].

The Reds had been tipped to re-enter the race for the winger this summer as they eye potential replacements for unsettled England international Raheem Sterling.

The 20-year-old is expected to depart Anfield at some stage during the transfer window, but Liverpool don’t seem to be budging on their £50 million valuation of the player.

Two bids from Manchester City have already been rejected [via BBC Sport], although a third and final offer is understood to be in the pipeline [via Independent Sport], while Premier League champions Chelsea have registered their interest but won’t go higher than a £40 million bid [via Sky Sports].

With one transfer saga nearing it’s conclusion, it’s possible that the future of Sterling could become clearer in the next few weeks as clubs return for pre-season training.
