Highly-rated midfielder Roberto Firmino, who joined for a reported £29 million [via BBC Sport], is set to wear the no. 11 shirt which was last worn by Oussama Assaidi and the Brazilian international will be hoping to fare better than the Moroccan at Anfield.

Nathaniel Clyne completed his transfer to the club on Wednesday and is set to takeover the no.2 shirt from Glen Johnson, who has been released after six seasons on Merseyside.

England international James Milner has signed for the Reds on a free transfer after rejecting a new deal with Manchester City and will wear the famous no.7 shirt that has been worn by many Kop heroes including Kenny Dalglish and Luis Suarez.

Fellow new arrival Adam Bogdan is expected to be handed the no.1 jersey despite the fact he’s likely to be backup to Simon Mignolet.

Danny Ings revealed last week that he was to take the no.28 shirt after signing from Burnley, as says he wants to prove that he’s worthy enough to wear an iconic shirt number [via Mirror Sport].

Attentions now could turn to the no.31 top which is currently worn by Raheem Sterling and whether or not it will be in use during the new campaign.

City have already seen two bids rejected [via BBC Sport], however, Mail Sport say a third and final offer will be made in the near future.
