Nani hasn’t featured for the Red Devils since their opening day of last season’s defeat to Swansea City, and after returning to Sporting CP on loan soon after, his career with the Premier League giants appeared all but over.

According to Turkish Football, the Portugal international is set to undergo his medical with the Super Lig runners-up this Sunday, as the forward looks poised to finally end his Old Trafford misery.

The report states that the club’s sporting director Guilliano Terraneo made the journey to Portugal to finalise the deal with the player’s agent and, subject to a successful medical, his transfer to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium could be confirmed next week. He is said to have put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract.

While showing glimpses of magic throughout his career in England, he struggled to break free of the shadow of international team-mate and former Old Trafford star Cristiano Ronaldo.

In 147 appearances, the 28-year-old scored 25 goals for Manchester United.
