With Chelsea looking like one of the frontrunners to sign Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan this summer, here’s a look at five alternatives for the Blues to consider instead…

1) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Chelsea have also been linked with Turan’s Atletico team-mate Antoine Griezmann this summer, and it’s fair to say the prolific Frenchman looks a superior player overall, scoring 25 goals from out wide last season and looking like one of the best wide-players in Europe.

2) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)

Capable of playing out wide or up front, Borussia Dortmund’s pacey attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in outstanding form in the Bundesliga since his move, and the £28m man has also been linked with Arsenal in recent times.

3) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Costing a whopping £50m, Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is another player linked with Chelsea at times this summer, and there’s no doubt the England international would be a superb long-term replacement, being eight years younger than Turan.

4) Pedro (Barcelona)

More of a goalscorer than Turan, Barcelona winger Pedro is another player possibly on the move this summer, and the £18m-rated Spanish international has been linked with Chelsea a few times, as well as with Liverpool and Manchester United.

5) Felipe Anderson (Lazio)

A Brazilian wonderkid lighting up Serie A at the moment, Lazio wide-man Felipe Anderson has been linked with a £30m move to Chelsea this summer and is another who is arguably a more promising prospect than Turan.
