However, speaking to Esport3 [via Goal], Bartomeu has confirmed that he will be encouraging the club’s board to sign the ex-Galatasaray skipper.

“He’s a very good player, has real quality and perfectly marries what Luis Enrique wants for next season,” Bartomeu began.

“As such, as a candidate, I encourage the board to sign the player.

“In this way, next season, we’ll have a team that will be very competitive and primed to win all possible titles.”

The 28-year-old player has denied that he has already agreed terms with the Nou Camp giants—according to Goal—but may soon have to make a major decision on his future, particularly if Luis Enrique is such an avid admirer of his talents.

Beyond United, Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the attacking talent.

Diego Costa, speaking to Burgun [via Turkish Football] has revealed that he would love to see his former Atleti teammate join him at the Camp Nou, with the pair—as well as left-back Filipe Luis—having achieved great success at the Vicente Calderon together.

Turan won the Europa League and the Spanish title with Atletico Madrid, while he also won the Super Lig crown with Galatasaray in 2008.

He is a three-time Super Lig Player of the Year, and an established component of the Turkish national side.
