The 19-year-old managed just one goal in 17 appearances last season, but he started in just four of those games and mostly came on in the dying minutes of matches. However, even with these caveats the youngster doesn’t seem to have impressed manager Louis van Gaal enough to gain a place in his first team plans for the next campaign.

With Wayne Rooney guaranteed a starting berth as captain of the Red Devils, and the club being constantly linked to top class forwards such as Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema [Daily Star] there are unlikely to many chances for the teenager at Old Trafford. A temporary move to the KC Stadium could work out for all sides, preparing him to make more of an impact at United when he returns.

Steve Bruce faces competition from Everton though, who are also interested in a loan deal, although a move to Goodison Park may be less enticing even with its offer of Premier League football. Romelu Lukaku usually operates as a lone striker for the Toffees, and it is unlikely the United man would be able to force his way in to the starting team on a consistent basis.

However, with Radamel Falcao’s loan having ended, and Robin van Persie having agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce, according to The Guardian, Wilson may still be needed as a backup. This could mean that he will be kept at Old Trafford even though it will stall his development.
