Liverpool look in good shape to sell three big players and still come out stronger, as manager Brendan Rodgers eyes Marco Reus as a replacement for Raheem Sterling. Read on to see how it looks like being three in, three out at Anfield this summer…

Out – Raheem Sterling

Linked with a move to Manchester City again as the club prepare a third bid for the 20-year-old, it looks like Liverpool could rake in a cool £50m from the Sterling’s exit, giving Rodgers big money to spend on a top class replacement.

In – Marco Reus

The player said to be in Liverpool’s sights if Sterling leaves, Marco Reus could join for around £46m this summer despite only recently signing a new contract with struggling Borussia Dortmund.

Out – Mario Balotelli

A troublesome presence in the Liverpool squad and a poor performer last season, Mario Balotelli has been linked with a return to Italy and could fetch around £10m if he does leave.

In – Christian Benteke

With a £32.5m release clause, Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke looks a tempting option for the Reds this summer and it looks more and more likely that they could raid Villa for the prolific Belgian, who’d be a great addition up front.

Out – Rickie Lambert

No longer needed at Anfield after a poor first season, Rickie Lambert could raise an extra £2m or so in funds if he moves to Crystal Palace or Bournemouth this summer, or he could even be used in a swap deal with Benteke, according to some reports.

In – Asier Illarramendi

Linked with a £15m move to Liverpool this summer, Asier Illarramendi looks a quality buy in midfield to help replace Steven Gerrard, and the departures of others should make this Real Madrid raid possible.
