Man United supporters hail Ed Woodward following Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin arrivals (Twitter)

As Manchester United confirmed the double signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin on Monday afternoon, supporters of the club have been forthcoming with praise for chief executive Ed Woodward.

The midfield pair have made it four new arrivals at Old Trafford this summer and join highly-rated winger Memphis Depay and Italian international Matteo Darmian at the club.

Completing the stunning double deal is certainly a stark contrast to the Red Devils’ summer transfer window two summers ago when they missed out on a number of targets and had to make peace with signing Marouane Fellaini on deadline day.

Much of the blame for such a poor window was levelled at Woodward. However, after signing the likes of Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata as well as the latest additions, he has now won United supporters over

There may yet be more signings, with the likes of Karim Benzema [Daily Mail], John Stones [Daily Mail] and Nicolas Otamendi [International Business Times] all linked with a move to Old Trafford.
