A look at five big transfer deals that are sure to be finalised in the coming 48 hours, if recent reports are to be believed, with good news for Liverpool and Manchester United…

1) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa to Liverpool)

With Christian Benteke’s release clause met, the Aston Villa striker looks almost certain to be on his way to Liverpool after leaving his club’s pre-season preparations to complete his big move, with an announcement sure to be forthcoming within days or even hours.

2) John Stones (Everton to Chelsea)

With Chelsea already making two bids for Everton defender John Stones, it looks increasingly likely that the talented young England international will make his way to Stamford Bridge imminently as the Blues look serious about winning this particular transfer battle.

3) Jonny Evans (Manchester United to Everton)

A deal already believed to be in the works, Everton should conclude the signing of out-of-favour Manchester United defender Jonny Evans to help replace Stones at Goodison Park.

4) Nicolas Otamendi (Valencia to Manchester United)

With United also chasing Stones, but looking like missing out, it seems likely now that Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi will be their top priority, with Sergio Ramos also looking out of reach as he prepares to stay at Real Madrid. With a £36m release clause and the player leaving his club’s kit launch, this shouldn’t take long to push through.

5) Mohamed Salah (Chelsea to Liverpool)

A rumour that is gathering momentum, Liverpool could take advantage of Mohamed Salah’s situation at Chelsea and finally sign a player they first wanted over a year ago, with Fiorentina and Juventus failing to negotiate successful deals with the Blues.
