Underrated footballers: Arsenal GENIUS, Liverpool ROCK & Man Utd duo in our top 10

Ten underrated footballers who don’t get the recognition they deserve.

1) Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)

One of the best attacking midfielders in Europe last season, Santi Cazorla is a real gem in this Arsenal side and it’s crazy to think Mesut Ozil cost nearly three times as much as the silky Spaniard!

2) Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool)

A rock solid defender, Mamadou Sakho looks like improving all the time for Liverpool after getting off to something of a slow start at Anfield, and deserves more credit for his displays.

3) Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

A hugely improved player last season, Marouane Fellaini has become a key part of this Manchester United team with some commanding and powerful midfield performances.

4) Willian (Chelsea)

Not much of a flair player, but Chelsea winger Willian has kept some big names out of the Blues XI in recent times, with Jose Mourinho clearly seeing something in his work-rate and quality to sell players like Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne and Andre Schurrle, while Juan Cuadrado has mainly sat on the bench since moving from Fiorentina in January.

5) Danny Rose (Tottenham)

A player growing in stature in a Tottenham shirt, Danny Rose is now one of the team’s best and most consistent performers, though he remains some way from an England call-up for some reason.

6) Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)

An easy target for criticism in this underperforming Liverpool team, Simon Mignolet has become a reliable goalkeeper and well worth the number one spot after a strong run of performances and clean sheets last season.

7) Theo Walcott (Arsenal)

A player unfortunate to miss so much action through injury, Arsenal winger Theo Walcott never lets the team down when he is fit to play, with a superb scoring record and great turn of pace to make him a real threat for the Gunners.

8) Martin Demichelis (Manchester City)

Despite a slow start at Manchester City, Martin Demichelis has become one of the team’s most important defenders in recent times after considerable dips in form from big names like Vincent Kompany.

9) Ashley Young (Manchester United)

Whether in midfield, left-back or wing-back, Ashley Young deserves immense credit for turning his career around at Manchester United when it looked dead in the water, with some great performances throughout 2014/15.

10) Victor Wanyama (Southampton)

In the shadow of Morgan Schneiderlin for so long, Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama should now show he can be the main man in this Saints team with his former partner moving to Manchester United.
