Bayern Munich XI with Vidal signing, Manchester United raid & Chelsea target: Champions League favourites?

How Bayern look set to line up in 2015/16…

With news that Bayern Munich have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, here’s a look at how they could be set to line up next season…

GK: Manuel Neuer

One of the best goalkeepers in the world, there’s no doubt about Manuel Neuer’s position as number one for Bayern Munich next season.

DR: Philipp Lahm

A superb right-back, Philipp Lahm will continue to lead Bayern and should be restored to his favoured position after a spell in midfield.

DL: Bernat

An exciting youngster who improves all the time, Bernat could be first choice at left-back next season.

DC: Mehdi Benatia

A superb signing from last summer, Mehdi Benatia has taken some time to settle at Bayern Munich but should remain a key part of the team for 2015/16.

DC: Dante

Linked with Manchester United earlier in the summer, Dante seems to be staying at the Allianz Arena for the new season.

DM: Xabi Alonso

Signed from Real Madrid last summer, Xabi Alonso has proven a great signing for the Bavarian giants and should continue as a starter in their midfield.

MC: Arturo Vidal

Slightly further forward in a midfield three, Arturo Vidal comes in as a direct replacement for Man United new-boy Bastian Schweinsteiger.

MC: Angel Di Maria

Possibly set to leave United this summer, Angel Di Maria has been strongly linked with Bayern as well as with PSG, and he’d be a great fit for the Bundesliga champions.

FR: Arjen Robben

Still a world class winger, Arjen Robben should keep his place on the right flank for Pep Guardiola’s side next season.

FL: Douglas Costa

Already signed from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, Bayern beat Chelsea to Brazilian winger Douglas Costa, who could be a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery.

FC: Thomas Muller

With Robert Lewandowski unconvincing and possibly leaving, it seems likely that Thomas Muller could have a new striker’s role at Bayern next season.
