Man City star and Liverpool transfer target on the brink of £10.5m Premier League departure

Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic is on the verge of securing a move away from the Premier League, with Inter Milan understood to be close to a deal for the attacker.

The Guardian report that the Citizens will loan the Montenegrin star to the Nerazzurri for the coming campaign, with the Lombardy giants then signing the player permanently for £10.5 million [€15m] next summer.

Jovetic arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Fiorentina in 2013, with the Sky Blues parting with £22 million to bring the Fiorentina frontman to Manchester [BBC Sport].

However, a combination of injury concerns and intense competition at the club have severely limited his impact in England. He looks set to leave the EPL having managed only 30 outings over two years, with an eight-goal return a poor tally for one so talented.

Transfer rumours suggesting a departure was imminent have been swirling over the last few days following the player’s omission from the Citizens’ penalty victory over AS Roma as part of their pre-season tour.

The Eastern European was one of only two players—the other being Edin Dzeko—not to be given an outing, with the Manchester Evening News just one source to interpret Manuel Pellegrini’s snub as a major hint that the duo will be heading for the exit door.
