Arsenal ready to LAUNCH £48.5m bid to sign La Liga duo, including Manchester United target

Gunners want business done quickly.

Arsenal could make their final two signings of the summer in a superb double raid on Spain’s La Liga, according to various recent reports.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen in midfield and up front after identifying the weak areas of his squad, with Petr Cech already brought in from Chelsea to fix the goalkeeping issue.

A further £48.5m could now go on two top talents from the Spanish top flight, with reports suggesting this is the duo Wenger is looking at:

1) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Linked with a stunning £40m move to Arsenal this summer, Real Madrid striker and Manchester United target Karim Benzema could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium as Wenger looks for a world class player to provide an upgrade on the likes of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

2) Sergi Samper (Barcelona)

For an additional £8.5m, Arsenal could also try to sign highly-rated Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper to solve their issues in defensive midfield, with the 20-year-old possibly following in the footsteps of ex-Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas in swapping Catalunya for north London at a young age.
