Arsenal star sends Twitter message to departing international; can’t resist CRUEL GIBE

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has sent a message of support to midfielder Abou Diaby following his exit from the Emirates Stadium.

The elegant France international ended his long stint in North London with a return to French football. Having left in Auxerre in 2006, the powerful midfielder now returns to his homeland with Olympique de Marseille, who will look to be challenging for Champions League football next term.

Writing to his departing teammate on social media, Ozil has wished Diaby all the best, but couldn’t resist the opportunity to have a laugh at his ex-colleague’s expense.

“Abou, all the best @OM_Officiel!” Ozil began, writing on his @MesutOzil1088 account, “I hope you’ll stay fit! #AuRevoirDiaby @AbouVDIABY”

Ozil’s note pays reference to Diaby’s disastrous injury record during his time with Arsene Wenger’s side.

The midfielder may have won two FA Cups during his time with the capital club, but he has failed to surpass 16 league outings in any campaign since 2010, and managed a cumulative one appearance in the last two Premier League seasons.
